Physical Challenges.

Just about any Biber family gathering results in a physical challenge--balancing on one leg to the floor and back up, push-ups on the counter, jumping (we're terrible jumpers)...you get the idea. Well, I think Jose has gotten the bug. When we were in Pueblo, we spent a little time at the playground with Nick and Christian. It looked a little something like this:

Gobble.

Since Jose and I were married, I have wanted to do a Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. It is one of those traditions that not every family can appreciate, but loving the workout high, we do. We signed up for the Gobble Wobble at Clement Park. Jose was a little doubtful as we were bundling the kids up, but felt pumped once he finished his first race ever!

Then...we headed to Pueblo to play outside, eat Turkey, talk and laugh with family, and celebrate Griff's birthday! It was a fun-filled weekend. And, we even got to go on a movie double-date with Jason and Laura thanks to some excellent grandparents.

These Girls.

After months of anticipation, my amazing sisters were finally in Colorado. There is little in the world that is better than spending time with them. So, I was especially excited when Whit got to spend a bonus day here after flying to Vegas for work. We had a wonderful weekend, playing outside in the unseasonably warm weather and eating tasty food and surviving a hot yoga class. My boys got lots of love from Court and Whit and are already looking forward to the time we'll all spend together at Christmas!

A Beginning.

Recently, Whit sent this quotation to me:

"For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet or excite you. Books help us understand who we are and how we are to behave. They show us what community and friendship mean; they show us how to live and die. They are full of all the things that you don't get in real life--wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. And quality of attention: we may notice amazing details during the course of a day but we rarely let ourselves stop and really pay attention. An author makes you notice, makes you pay attention, And this is a great gift. My gratitude for good writing is unbounded; I am grateful for it the way I'm grateful for the ocean."-  Anne Lamott in Bird by Bird

Of course, I loved it and was moved by it. It also inspired me to get going on my newest endeavor...Book on a Branch. I am trying to combine my passion for reading, need for creativity, and love for my little ones into a blog that helps parents inspire their kids to love reading. Please stop by and share it if you are so moved...
