Thankful: Two.

Between Jose's surprise weekend getaway, generous gifts from family, and many sweet birthday messages, I felt so loved on my birthday. I am grateful for a truly special, memorable day. One of my hopes for this new year is that I can more frequently, more fully express my gratitude and care for the people in my life. Not because I'm afraid I won't get another chance or anything morbid like that, but because it is immensely uplifting to give and receive those words of appreciation. So, thank you for a lovely birthday!

Heading to the Mountains...

In Pueblo, that is.

Jose has every other Friday off, which is a huge blessing for our family. While it does mean he works longer hours on the other days of the week, those off Fridays are what we need to recharge and reconnect. Last summer we stayed at the Mountain Park Environmental Center in Pueblo Mountain Park. It happens to be the same location where Jose went to summer camp as a kid. They've spruced the place up and added soft, cozy beds. It is a gem. We were so happy to be able to convince Jose's parents and his brother, Jason, and wife and all the kiddos to join us. It was the perfect way to start this warm weather time of year...grilling, s'mores, hiking, and kids running around like wild ones.

Griff signing "tree" as soon as he got out of the car.

He carried his ball from the moment we got out of the car and during a hike. (little Hoosier)

Sitting on the edge of the creek...he would've swum if we let him.

Just my size fridge!

Hiking through the canyon.

Love this one!

Getting a little grandparent love.
