Two!!

Happy second birthday, Diego!! We love you so much and celebrate you today. You are sweet and funny. You bring light and laughter to our family. You are Griffin's shadow. You are our snuggler and runner. You are so happy to be around people and give smiles to everyone you see. It has been a joy to watch you grow for two years. We love you!

One. Happy first birthday, sweet boy! We adore you. Today we celebrate your life and the way that you are woven into the fabric of our family. You bring us joy every day with your laughter, squeals, curiosity, and love. Look how much you've grown!

God poured His love out on us this Sunday as we celebrated Diego Brantley's baptism.

We are so thankful for the Mo and Scott, Diego's godparents. They are so sweet to our family and I am so glad they will always be a part of our lives.

The Nursery

It may seem a little late for this, but Diego's room is finally finished. Now that Griff is fully transitioned to his big boy bed, the crib has moved into Deo's room and I love it. 

A few of my favorites:

The madras quilt and artwork above the bed (thanks, Muffy and Skippy!)

The dresser turned changing table that moved from my first place at 1st and Lincoln (and the places in between) to Jackson Street 

The grouping of artwork over the crib that was a last minute project completed during my sisters' last visit

The plane mobile over the rocking chair--made from clothespins and mini popsicle sticks!

Oh, and that cute, little buddy hanging out on the bed...I think he's pretty adorable too!

There's nothing like a Saturday outside. It's been beautiful here and we're enjoying every minute of it. I've been feeling that hope and freedom that accompanies spring. My renewed energy and excitement has made me want to spruce up the yard, the house, get projects done and just be outside with my boys.

6 Months

Things are getting really fun around here.

Boys.

There are some mornings when they wake up and it's as if they've grown over night. Changed. There's something in the way they make noise or move or the expressions they make that is just different. Last week, Griff said his name for the first time--Diff. (He has been calling himself YOU! for quite a while) Diego seems suddenly so aware of his big brother and thinks he's hilarious. Seeing the two of them together, happy fills me up. While I know there will be times when I will long for some moment or memory from the past, days like these make me excited for all of the things to come. Love these boys...

Four Months.

3 months.

Brothers.

Griff loves books. 

 He's sure Diego will too.

 But, if a book doesn't make him happy, Griff will try to cheer him up with a gentle face stroke.

 And...a nose cleaning.

 And...a snuggle.
