We've been all about playing outside in the morning. We have had record breaking heat all month. Seriously...it hasn't been this hot since the 1950's. So, once we hit 11:00, we're pretty much inside, especially since the pools are all closed. Boo. Griff seems to mind the heat a lot less than I do, but he's been a good sport.

Day in the Life
We've spent quite a bit of time running errands, meeting friends for lunch, and driving around town recently. It felt so good to just spend a whole day at home this week. Griff enjoyed playing in the backyard all morning. I tested out our new clothesline. We listened to music and danced and colored. While I want to get everything ready for the new baby, I also want to make the most of the last days of just being a family of three. Griff may not remember life before having a sibling (and I'm hoping he will be thrilled to be a big brother), but I want to shower him with love and attention right now.

Less than a month to go...
As of yesterday, I was exactly one month from my due date. I cannot believe it. This pregnancy has gone so quickly. Griff loves to talk about the baby and give my belly hugs and kisses. We'll see how he feels about affection once the baby is actually here...

The Nest
When we were growing up, we would give my mom a hard time about running the garbage disposal during a movie or not sitting down during a game. I don't think that anyone moves and works quite like my mom. There are times when I couldn't appreciate this more, though...like when trying to redo two bedrooms in our house during her five day visit. It was, of course, fun to spend time together, but it also felt so good to make so much progress on projects I couldn't really do by myself.
Griff's room went from baby to little boy--complete with a twin bed, vibrant rug, and refurbished chair. The nursery went from cozy guest room to bright, open baby room. As always, my mom was more than generous with several surprise purchases. She helped me finish off several small projects that had been hanging over my head. And, Griff got some serious quality time with Muffy. It really couldn't have come at a better time and it made me so thankful to have such a powerhouse of a mom.
