Three.

Three years ago...I married Jose. Hooray! It has gone by so quickly, but every day I am grateful to have such a supportive, strong, adoring man in my life. I love you, Jose!

28 Weeks

I was actually 29 weeks on Saturday! This pregnancy is flying by. I can't believe that we'll only be ten weeks from the due date this Saturday! We definitely need to start doing some preparations. But, we are oh so excited to meet this new little one.

 Oh, that face

And...that face! Griff spent most of the week digging in the sand.

So...We're at the beach

On Thursday afternoon, we found out that Jose would be working in Cocoa Beach, Florida on Monday. We packed up as quickly as we could and did what we had to do. Travel to the beach!!

Griffin was a little apprehensive about the moving water at first, but after a little swim with Dad...he was feeling brave. I think it will be a lovely week at the beach.

Popsicle

Griffin ate his first popsicle yesterday. Really it was just his peach yogurt--frozen in rocket pop form. He was having a little difficulty figuring out how to eat it. Naturally, I had to get my own popsicle and show him how it's done.

18 Months

Griffin,

Today you are exactly one and a half! Happy half birthday! You make us laugh every day. You are such a sweet boy and we're so excited to watch you grow.
Here are some of the things I love about you right now:

The way you say "Mama" and "Dada"
How much you love yogurt...mmm
The way you growl at every lion picture you see
How you give hugs and kisses
How you prefer to be under tables, chairs, your stroller and inside cabinets and closets
How much you love birds
That you want to go swimming no matter the temperature
That you still growl
How you dive to the ground and wiggle your bum when you are trying to hide from me
That you know which of your books are bibles
That you sing along with the radio
The way you smile when I'm holding you and singing to you right before bed

We love you, Gigs.

Words

Griff has been trying out a lot of words, but tends to be stubborn about when he says them. We'll walk up to someone (like the cashier at the grocery), that someone will say, "hello" and I will tell Griff to say, "hi." He'll give them an incredibly blank stare. As we walk away..."HI!"

Two nights ago, the weather finally permitted Griff and I to join Jose at a soccer game. One of the girls from Jose's work walked up to us to say hello. We went through the typical routine. Griff looked at her and said, "hi." It was the sweetest little hello. Jose almost cried. Seriously. I get to enjoy most of Griffin's developments, since I'm at home with him most of the day. Jose often gets to experience the grumpy end-of-day Griff. Or...the busy, running around town all weekend Griff. It's especially delightful to him when our son reveals some new trick or aspect of his personality around him. It reminds me to appreciate all that I get to be a part of between the hours of 7 and 5.

Griff's favorite word right now has to be "Dada." Any time I touch my phone, he thinks I must be calling Dada. When our washing machine starts up, he thinks Dada is opening the garage door. When I open his bedroom door in the morning, he asks where Dada is. He just loves his Dada.
