Down on the Farm

One of the great joys of fall is making soup. Chopping up all of those fresh autumn vegetables. Peeling, slicing, sauteeing. My favorite way to get to that soup making place is by picking fresh vegetables...straight out of the ground. Over the weekend, Jose and my dear friend, Laura, joined me in digging through the soil at Miller Farms. It always seems, however, that the day on which we choose to go is a very warm one after a string of cool, crisp days. Oh, well. It's good to work up a sweat and pretend to be a farmer.
